This is a vinyl LP pressing of Earth A.D. / Wolfs Blood by the Misfits, the final album to feature founding member and lead vocalist Glenn Danzig. Released on Danzig’s Plan 9 Records label in December 1983—two months after his final concert with the band—the album was noticeably harder and faster than the Misfits’ earlier releases, showcasing a stronger hardcore punk sound, and has often been referred to simply as Earth A.D. by fans. Originally issued as a 9-song LP, it was later reissued with three tracks from the Die, Die My Darling EP added to the track list: “Die, Die My Darling”, “Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?”, and “We Bite”. Danzig later said that the tracks “Bloodfeast” and “Death Comes Ripping” were originally intended for the first release by his later band Samhain, but were added to what became the Misfits’ final record in a last-ditch effort to save the band. The album’s influence continued in later years, with Metallica covering “Die, Die My Darling” for their 1998 album Garage Inc. and previously recording “Green Hell” on The $5.98 E.P. – Garage Days Re‑Revisited, while British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth covered “Death Comes Ripping” on their 1999 release From the Cradle to Enslave.
